Flooring contractor services in Antioch, CA

Sterling Antioch Concrete Coatings is a flooring contractor in Antioch, CA, with 16 services for coating, polishing and repairing concrete floors. Your price mostly turns on the floor's size, how much grinding and crack repair the slab needs and the system you choose, while the schedule turns on prep and cure time. Your written estimate lays it all out.

  • Gray flake-coated epoxy covers the floor and two steps leading to a white door.

    Epoxy Floor Coatings

We grind your concrete clean and put down a bonded epoxy system for garages, shops and basements that need a hard, easy-to-clean floor that stands up to daily use.

  • Glossy metallic gray epoxy floor in a bright retail and recreation space with yellow walls.

Commercial & Industrial Epoxy Floor Coatings

Warehouses, kitchens and shop floors that see forklifts, carts and spills get a heavier-duty epoxy system laid out for the traffic and chemicals your business puts on it.

  • Glossy light-gray coated floor in a spacious garage with a segmented door and blue vehicle lift.

    Garage Floor Coatings

If your garage slab is stained, dusty or peeling from a store-bought kit, we strip it, grind it and lay down a coating that cleans up with a hose.

  • Glossy gray-and-black speckled polyaspartic floor coating in an empty garage with large windows.

    Polyaspartic Floor Coatings

Polyaspartic is a fast-curing coating that resists yellowing in sunlight, so it suits homeowners who want their garage or patio back sooner and a finish that holds its color.

  • Blue metallic epoxy floor with swirling white patterns in a garage with wall shelves.

    Metallic Epoxy Flooring

We build metallic epoxy floors with pigments worked by hand that give showrooms, basements and living spaces a deep, marbled look, and no two come out alike.

  • Rows of stainless steel tanks stand over a glossy red urethane cement floor in a processing facility.

    Urethane Cement Flooring

Commercial kitchens, breweries and food plants with hot washdowns and heavy spills need urethane cement, a tough cement-based resin floor that handles heat and moisture better than epoxy.

  • Polished concrete floor with exposed stone aggregate reflects the wall panels in a large, empty room.

    Polished Concrete Flooring

We grind your existing slab with finer and finer diamonds and harden it into a glossy polished concrete floor for homes, stores and offices that want low upkeep.

  • Glossy tan speckled epoxy floor in a workshop with a bandsaw, lathe, dust collector, and tool cabinets.

    Stained Concrete Flooring

Acid or water-based stain soaks into bare concrete and gives patios, basements and interior slabs rich, mottled color, then we seal it so the color stays put.

  • Empty garage with a gray speckled coated floor, closed off by yellow caution tape.

    Terrazzo Flooring

We install epoxy terrazzo, a resin floor packed with glass or stone chips and ground smooth, for lobbies, entries and homes that want a custom pattern underfoot.

  • Glossy gray-and-white flake-coated floor in a room with wooden doors and a white entry door.

    Basement Flooring

Basement slabs can hold moisture that lifts ordinary flooring, so we test the concrete first and choose a coating system that suits a room below ground you want to use.

  • Wide garage with a glossy gray flake-coated floor, white built-in cabinets, and an open overhead door.

    Concrete Grinding & Surface Preparation

Before any coating, overlay or polish, we diamond-grind the slab to open its surface and fix cracks and low spots, because that prep decides whether the floor on top holds.

  • Close-up of a polished, speckled concrete floor with a straight light-colored joint and ceiling-light reflections.

    Concrete Sealing

Bare driveways, patios and garage slabs soak up oil, water and stains, and a penetrating or topical sealer helps keep them out and makes the concrete easier to clean.

  • Fresh pale-gray concrete overlay driveway leading to a house, bordered by grass, trees, and small work markers.

    Concrete Resurfacing & Overlays

When concrete is pitted, flaking or stained but still solid underneath, a cement overlay gives you a fresh surface without the cost and mess of tearing it out.

  • Glossy light-gray polyaspartic floor coating reflects windows and overhead equipment in an empty industrial garage.

    Self-Leveling Concrete & Overlays

We pour self-leveling underlayment, a fluid cement that flattens itself out, to smooth uneven or dipped slabs before tile, wood, vinyl or a coating goes on top.

  • A blue swimming pool is surrounded by a broad, light-beige textured resurfaced deck beside a house and lawn.

    Pool Deck Coatings & Resurfacing

Cracked, worn or slick pool decks get repaired and resurfaced with a textured coating that gives bare feet better grip and a clean, even look.

  • A gray-brown flake epoxy floor coating covers a garage, with a raised step and white walls.

    Concrete Floor Stripping & Removal

When old coatings, sealers or glued-down flooring are peeling or failing, we strip the slab back to bare concrete so the next floor has something solid to bond to.

Why homeowners and shop owners call us

  • Your slab checked before colors

I check the slab and test it where it needs it before we talk colors, because the prep decides whether a floor holds.

  • The estimator runs your job

I write your estimate and run the job with our crew, so nothing you told me gets lost before the work starts.

  • An estimate you can follow

Your written estimate spells out the prep, the testing and the coating system, so you can see exactly what you're paying for.

  • A straight answer on fit

If your floor isn't a good fit for what you want, I'll tell you plainly, even when that means a smaller job for us.

  • Dust collected, wash water contained

We grind with dust collection and keep wash water contained, so your house or shop isn't left coated in concrete dust.

Sterling Antioch Concrete Coatings is based in Antioch, CA, and works across the 12 cities listed below, from Pittsburg to Discovery Bay. If your city isn't on the list, call and ask.

Your flooring questions answered

How much does an epoxy garage floor cost in Antioch?

The cost depends mostly on the size of your garage, the condition of the slab and the coating system you choose, so I give you a number after seeing the floor. Cracks, oil stains, an old peeling coating or moisture in the slab all add prep, and prep is where most of the difference in price comes from.

Why do floor coating quotes vary so much between contractors?

Quotes usually differ because of how much prep is included, not because of the coating itself. A low price often means a light scrub or acid etch instead of diamond grinding, and grinding is the step that decides whether the coating bonds. When you compare, look for the prep and testing written out.

How long does it take to coat a garage floor?

It depends on how much prep your slab needs and how long the system you pick takes to cure, so I'll talk you through the schedule once I've seen the floor. Polyaspartic topcoats usually cure faster than epoxy, which helps if you need the garage back quickly.

When does a flooring contractor need a state license in California?

The California Contractors State License Board requires a license when a project needs a building permit, uses any additional workers, or costs $1,000 or more in labor and materials across one or more contracts. Most floor coating jobs land over that line, so ask any contractor for their license and insurance before work starts. We're licensed and insured.

Do I need to empty my garage before you coat the floor?

Yes, the floor needs to be clear wall to wall, because we grind and coat the whole slab at once and anything left on it leaves a gap. We'll go over what has to move at the estimate, and the space stays off-limits until the coating has cured enough to walk on.

Do you guarantee your floor coating work?

Yes, our work is backed by our satisfaction guarantee. The way I protect a floor is the prep, because any coating looks good the day it's done and the work under it decides how it holds up.

Is epoxy or polyaspartic better for a garage floor?

For most garages I'd pick a system that pairs an epoxy base with a polyaspartic topcoat, because you get epoxy's build and bond with a top layer that handles sun and scuffs better. Straight epoxy can yellow where sunlight hits it, which matters if your door stays open in the afternoon.

Do I need a permit for a floor coating job in Antioch?

It depends on the project, and the city's Building Services Division, which issues building permits in Antioch, is the office to ask. If your job calls for a permit, we tell you at the estimate and settle who gets it before work starts, and if I'm not sure, I check with the city first.

How a floor job works with us

  1. Call or send a message

Call (925) 503-1069 or fill out our form and tell us a little about the floor and how you use the space. We reply to every call and message within one business day to set up a time for me to come out and see it.

  2. I look at the slab

I come to your home or business, look over the slab and test it where it needs testing, because some problems don't show from the surface. You get a free written estimate that lays out the prep, the coating system and any permit questions, with no obligation to go ahead.

  3. Our crew does the work

Once you say go, our crew preps the floor first, grinding it, repairing cracks and cleaning it so the coating has a sound surface to grab. Then we put the system down coat by coat. I run the job myself, so the plan we agreed on is the one that gets built.

  4. We walk the floor with you

When the last coat is down, we walk the finished floor with you and go over anything you want to look at closely. We clean up before we leave, and I'll tell you when the floor is ready for foot traffic and when it's ready for your car.
